Why it is hard alone

The money exists. The way to it is the problem.

Germany funds companies generously, through banks, development banks and public programmes. What stops most founders is not the business. It is the file, the programme nobody mentioned, and a system that expects you to know it already.

Banks decline files, not companies

A sound business with an incomplete application gets a no. Numbers, documents and the plan have to read the way a German bank reads them.

Funding nobody told you about

Regional, national and EU programmes pay for R&D, AI and innovation. Most companies never apply, because nobody screened what they qualify for.

No history here, no easy yes

A founder from abroad has no house bank and no track record in Germany. It takes someone who knows which bank and which programme works with that.

How the two sides fit

Grant and bank, one plan.

Public funding rarely pays upfront or in full. Funding bodies expect an own contribution and pre-financing. Estrach & Jung structure both sides: funding on the costs your equity covers, and where equity falls short, bank financing closes the gap. One plan and one team, from application to payout.

What they do

From the first business plan to the money on your account.

Three core services, handled by the same two people from the first call to the payout.

Business financing

Working capital, investment loans and growth financing: structured, transparent and guided through to the payout.

Not tied to one bank: direct contacts at five further banks and access to KfW and IBB programmes.

  • Creditworthiness analysis
  • A complete financing plan
  • Bank selection and rate negotiation
  • Funding screening (KfW, IBB)
  • Lender selection across their banking network, including their role as authorised broker of Berliner Volksbank eG

Funding advisory

Grants and programmes at regional, national and EU level, together with their network partner.

  • Funding screening and programme selection
  • R&D, AI, university collaboration and innovation funding
  • Application preparation
  • Communication with the funding bodies
  • Reporting and proof of use
  • Own contribution and pre-financing structured, with bank financing where equity falls short

Founders & Startups

From the first business plan to the first financing, from idea to launch.

  • Business plan and financial planning
  • Business registration and permits
  • Funding and financing advice
  • Coaching and network access

Also: M&A and succession for owner-managed SMEs, from business valuation to the financing structure for buyers.

What you walk away with

A file a bank can say yes to.

  • A financing plan built the way lenders read it
  • The right bank, and the rate negotiated for you
  • Funding programmes screened: KfW, IBB, national and EU
  • Applications prepared and the funding bodies handled
  • Someone at your side until the money is paid out
  • Reporting and proof of use, so the grant stays yours

Results

What one plan for both sides looks like.

AI company: €2.5M to build and scale

The company had ambitious plans for development, staff and growth, but not enough equity for the own contribution funding bodies require. Estrach & Jung built one plan for both sides: public funding on development and personnel costs financed by equity, with the equity gap closed through bank financing.

Result: €2M from a mix of public funding programmes plus €500k bank financing.

Sustainable e-mobility company: €300k

A growing company in urban electric mobility, moving from concept to roll-out. Estrach & Jung built the funding strategy on the company's own equity: development and personnel costs financed by equity, then leveraged with public funding.

Result: €300k in public funding for development and staff.

German logistics SME: €600k working capital

An established logistics company needed liquidity to keep pace with its business. Estrach & Jung analysed creditworthiness, built a financing plan the way lenders read it, selected the lender and negotiated the terms.

Result: €600k working capital facility.

German cleantech company: €5M+ EU grant

A company ready to move its technology from pilot to demonstration scale. Estrach & Jung supported the funding process with application materials, meetings and ongoing advisory across EU and state level.

Result: €5M+ awarded under the EU LIFE programme, complemented by state funding in two German states.

Questions everyone asks

Good to know.

What does the first call cost?

Nothing. The call you book here is free, and you leave knowing what is realistic for your company and what the next step would be.

Is my company too early, or too small?

No. Estrach & Jung works with founders before the first business plan exists, with startups raising their first financing, and with owner-managed SMEs planning growth, an acquisition or a succession.

What does the consulting cost after the first call?

That depends on the mandate, and you agree it with Estrach & Jung before any work starts. Funding advisory is success-based: you pay when the funding comes through.

Which language is the call in?

You choose it when you book. The booking shows the languages the consultant actually speaks, together with the free times.

Who will I talk to?

Maximilian Jung, co-founder of Estrach & Jung. He takes the call you book here and stays your contact through the mandate; Jean-Daniel Estrach and the team work with him on it.

What does Unlock Germany have to do with it?

Estrach & Jung is our partner for company financing and funding. You book here, they advise and do the work, and we stay reachable if anything stalls. Unlock Germany charges you no fee. Our partners pay us for introductions, and a partner may charge for its own services.
